After: The ceiling cornice was carefully rubbed down with fine sandpaper and then painted carefully to ensure that the detailing of the original mouldings were not lost and blocked with paint as can be occur in many rushed paint jobs .

BEFORE

Before: Victorian  terrace house in Edinburgh room was pink with dark red oil paint on coving.  The original lining paper was loose and cracks on ceiling and walls.

Clients wanted to create a calm tranquil space where they could relax. After a colour consultation the clients decided upon an eco paint in moonstone grey which changes to a subtle mauve in the changing daylight. This gave the room a modern contemporary feel and restored it back to its former glory in keeping with the period style of the property

After: Eco paints were used throughout to decorate this room. The walls were relined  where necessary and all cracks were repaired using eco filler. Walls were painted with Eco moonstone, and the ceiling and rose, coving, woodwork and radiators were painted in Eco white. Clients were delighted with the result and now find it a pleasure to relax in a room with full knowledge they are not breathing in harmful VOC fumes.

Tips for Decorating Children's Bedrooms

There are a few points to consider when decorating your children's bedrooms. The main one should be health and wellbeing the second one should be child proof. After that you can start thinking about colours, special effects and other features or art work you may want in your child's rooms.

Consider using a paint that has a finish that allows it to be washable. That way when your precious little one's start leaving drawings / marks over the walls you can wash them off easily.
